You will want to check your brakes and bearings (and repack the bearings) either every 12,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first. When it comes to replacing those parts it's just a matter of checking to see if they are worn down or damaged prior to replacing them. There are so many variables when it comes to wear and tear on those parts that there isn't a set number or range when to change them which is why we have the maintenance schedule. Yeah, I agree if you are sagging on one side you've got a spring issue. We do not have any springs that would be a step up from the Dexter 072-013-00 you currently have installed. That spring is 20-1/2" long and rated for 1,400 lbs per spring. Our closet option is the 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles item # e84SR but they are only rated for a 1,000 lbs per spring. That won't help the problem.
